free events

Free events are offered as is, with no guarantee of delivery or recompense in case of cancellation. Newsletter recipients are requested not to forward the Zoom or Vimeo links from free Special Events to others; instead, please encourage your colleagues, friends, and students to subscribe to the free newsletter and to register for individual events.

Intellectual property

Course, retreat, workshop, and coaching materials and content may not be shared with anyone outside the event without explicit permission from Helen Sword.

All workshops, videos, powerpoint presentations, course content, and any other materials created by Helen Sword remain the intellectual property of Helen Sword.

Course funding

If you are waiting for confirmation of institutional funding for any of our courses, please contact us to express your interest and lock in earlybird pricing (if applicable).

writespace membership

WriteSPACE members agree not to share their login information, video links to Library items, or Zoom links to Live Writing Studio sessions and Special Events. They must respect the privacy of other members and engage at all times in civil and supportive behavior; otherwise, we reserve the right to terminate their membership.

Membership subscriptions are automatically deducted from a member’s account on a monthly or yearly basis depending on the option chosen.

Cancellations: WriteSPACE membership subscriptions may be cancelled at any time without penalty in the My Account section under Account Settings.

Refunds: Please contact us providing details and requesting a refund if a subscription payment has been deducted in error after your membership has been cancelled. Please note: It is your responsibility to manage your subscription and cancellation.

Refunds other than in response to an error are at our discretion. Yearly members can contact us within 15 days of subscribing to request a refund.

A 10% charge may be deducted from refunds to cover bank fees and administration costs.

discounts

Catalyst Series discounts for WriteSPACE and WS Studio members are valid only for monthly or annual members who maintain their paid membership status throughout the duration of the course. Non-members who erroneously claim the WriteSPACE discount will be billed for the additional enrollment fee.

Course and retreat discounts cannot be combined. Only one discount may be applied per course or retreat.

WriteSPACE PowerPack discounts will be calculated by deducting the fee paid for all eligible courses, plus one year of WriteSPACE or WS Studio membership, from the full PowerPack fee of USD $3500. Extra currency discounts may be applied at the discretion of WriteSpace Ltd.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Enabling Better Writers Australasia Programme: Permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand are eligible to apply for the fees of some courses and retreats to be invoiced in AUD/NZD+GST. If accepted, they must remit the ensuing invoice by Direct Bank Transfer and agree to our scholarship conditions (see below).

WriteSPACE and WS Studio members facing financial constraints may apply for a full or partial scholarship for any Writing Catalyst course. If accepted, they must agree to our scholarship conditions, which include an assurance that they will participate actively in the course and recommend it to others.

Onsite workshop bookings

For onsite bookings, we require a 20% non-refundable deposit.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellation requests for paid bookings and events must be made in writing and sent via email to contact@helensword.com.

Cancellation fees for writing retreats will be deducted from the full price on the following basis per person:

  • Outside 6 months from the start: 100% refund

  • Outside 90 days from the start: 75% refund

  • Between 89-32 days from the start: 50% refund;

  • Within 31 days of the start: no refund.

You may transfer your course or retreat booking to another person at any point, thereby avoiding cancellation costs.

It may be possible for us to hold your fees as credit towards a future retreat or course.

If a paid event has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organizers’ control, participants will not automatically receive a refund. Instead, WriteSpace Ltd will make every possible effort to reschedule the event at a mutually convenient time or, if this proves impossible, to offer similar services of an equal or greater value.
