Supporting Neurodiverse Writers

A writespace special event video

April 2024

Eirini Tzouma

What do neurodiverse/neurodivergent writers need in order to flourish, and how can we best support them? Register for the recording of this WriteSPACE Special Event with international writing expert Helen Sword and Eirini Tzouma, an Academic Development Advisor at the University of Durham, whose recent guest post in the Thesis Whisperer blog seeks to start a conversation about the many challenges faced by neurodiverse writers in academe. As Eirini reminds us, "Neurodiversity/divergence isn't a problem to be fixed; it's a vital part of the mosaic of who we are."

In the first hour of this free Zoom event, Helen and Eirini engaged in a lively conversation about neurodiversity/divergence in scholarly writing; in the second hour, they led a hands-on workshop and discussion for WriteSPACE members and invited guests.

A video of the first hour is available to all registered participants; you can watch a recording of the full 2-hour session in the members-only WriteSPACE Library. Not yet a member? Join the WriteSPACE here and get your first 30 days free, which will grant you access to our full Library of writing resources.

Register below to receive the video link of the first hour.

We hope you’ll enjoy watching this special event!
